Urbane Blades isn’t just a barbershop—it’s a movement rooted in precision, culture, and
craftsmanship. Founded by Belizean-born Navy veteran and entrepreneur Darren, the
journey began in one of the most disciplined environments imaginable: a single barber
chair aboard a U.S. Navy aircraft carrier in the Persian Gulf and Mediterranean Sea.
What started as a personal pursuit of mastery grew into a brand defined by excellence,
professionalism, and attention to detail. Since opening its doors in 2011, Urbane Blades
has set a higher standard for modern grooming—one focused on skill, culture, and
community rather than trends or gimmicks.
Today, our flagship Chicago barbershop and boutique Naperville studio deliver services
that reflect quality, consistency, and individuality—staying true to Darren’s vision of
